About Us

Sundown One specializes in everything electronic. From the products we sell to the staff that sells them, our business is electronics.

Our store is a friendly, locally-owned place in Springfield, IL. Whether you’re just browsing to see what’s out there or you are anxious to buy something new, our store is the perfect place for you. Our inventory stretches the gamut of residential, commercial, and automotive audio and video products. And if you don’t see it in our store, we can still get it for you.

And we can beat any other store’s prices (the big boxes don’t scare us). Our collaborative partnerships with other independent stores enable us to secure the same (or better!) pricing than the stores you expect to be cheaper.

We believe that shopping for new audio and video equipment should be an exciting experience. Make it fun, learn new things–that’s what we created this store for!

Delivery: We offer free delivery on all the products we sell. If you fall outside our delivery area, don’t worry, we’ll ship it to you free of charge.

Installation: We offer professional installation on all the products we sell, backed by a lifetime warranty. Our team of talented installers treats your new purchase like their own. They’ll walk you through how to use your new audio or video items so there’s little to no learning curve once it’s in your home. You go straight to enjoyment!

Parts Department: We’re able to get parts for most of the products we sell (and even some we don’t), so let us know what your needs are, and we’ll do all that’s possible to get you up and going again.

Service Department: We handle all the warranty service for the products we sell, so you don’t have to worry about it. If you have a problem with your purchase from us, just give us a call, and we’ll take care of the rest.

We love what we do, therefore we know what we sell. We are immersed in audio and video: residential, commercial, and automotive. We know which questions to ask so you get exactly what you are looking for.

Once you come in and visit, you’ll realize that we are just normal people who have fun doing what we do. Once you experience the knowledge and friendliness of the Sundown One staff, you’ll wonder why you ever shopped anywhere else before!

Alex Foster

Alex Foster

Employee since 2007

From a young age, Alex has been a part of Sundown One.

For example, he was among the first Beta testers of the Super Nintendo gaming system when Sundown One first got it back in the early 1990’s, when he was about 5 years old. He also almost met an early death, when he was subjected to the Sundown Car Stereo demo van at 148 dB around the age of 8.

Alex grew up in Rochester. He graduated from Rochester High School in 2005, and then attended the University of Illinois, majoring in mathematics.

Now, he gets paid to Beta test all the latest toys and subject himself to near heart attacks while demoing our louder systems.

Corey Foster

Cory Foster
Sales Manager

Employee since 2007

Growing up around Sundown One, Cory tried his best to stay out of it, but he just couldn’t do it. Cory grew up in Rochester, graduating from the high school there in 2003. He then attended Illinois College, majoring in Economics. What does this have to do with high fidelity? Absolutely nothing. That’s the point.

Even with the fact that he knew nothing about anything having to do with high fidelity…not even knowing that red is positive and black is negative…he joined the Sundown One team straight out of college.

Now he knows that red is positive and black is negative and has picked up a little more information along the way. He still can’t hook a system up, but he’s good about knowing what is good and what is not.

Neil Davis

Neil Davis
Operations Manager

Employee since 2008

The man who has done it all (though he is still humble). Neil’s had a career selling just about everything of fine quality, but he now is at home at Sundown One.

His reputation precedes him, whether it be from other business associates or his loyal customer base. Neil has a lot of knowledge, having been in the field for us performing installations and in the store selling. He takes care of the operations of the store, making sure things run smooth in the store, in the warehouse, in the field – you name it. So odds are, you’ll see him somewhere. Whatever he’s doing, he’ll be happy to make sure that you are taken care of.

We’re glad to have him here. If you see him in the store and want expertise and honesty, ask for Neil. If you don’t want that, ask for Cory!

Tyler Theilken

Tyler Theilken

Employee Since 2010

Tyler is yet another of our employees stolen from Circuit City (you know, before the mighty giant crumbled). He is currently our youngest employee, but don’t let that stop you from talking to him. He’s still an okay "guy".

We brought him on to be a helping hand on installs, but his natural communication skills and pleasant demeanor caused us to move him to the sales floor. He’s very friendly and helpful.

He’s a quick learner, so don’t let his youth fool you: he does know what he’s talking about. And like all our employees, if he doesn’t know, he’ll ask someone who does.

Vince Andrews

Vince Andrews
Installation Supervisor

Employee since 2008

Vince (AKA Vinny) was brought on to keep our store clean (so the rest of us didn’t have to do it anymore). For the longest time that was all that he was good at, but eventually, he became more valuable as an installer/salesman than a cleaning guy, so we had to hire someone else to clean for him. Vinny is a testament to hard work and dedication.

Vince is our “go to” guy. If something needs done (and no one else wants to do it), he’s perfectly happy to do it. So if you’ve got a job that’s not exactly pleasant, just ask for Vince and we’ll leave him with no choice.

Kyle Golden

Kyle Golden
Custom Installation

Employee Since 2012

Kyle has been around the 12 Volt arena since he was in diapers (so his dad attests). It seems as though he built his first relay before he could even speak the word and started building custom boxes when he wasn’t tall enough to see over the box.

Like all good ideas or people, we stole Kyle from our competition. He was known for his ability to create extraordinary subwoofer enclosures which sounded as good as they looked, and also for his massive Fro hairstyle. Since working for Sundown One he’s grown up a lot, even cutting his hair. Because of his shorter hair (which helps him fit into more vehicles) and increased expertise, Kyle has made Mobile Electronics list of the Nation’s Top 100 Installers. We’re proud to have him as a member of the Sundown One staff.
