Authoritative Class D3 Amplification

Extreme power with extreme efficiency are hallmarks of the Elite SC-97, thanks to Class D3 (Direct Energy HD) amplifiers that deliver lots of power in a cool-running, light weight package. An ideal multi-channel system uses identical speakers driven by identical amplifiers with the same output capability. Pioneer’s advanced Class D3 digital circuitry overcomes the limitations of traditional Class AB amplifier designs, which suffer reduced power output as channels are added. Instead, Pioneer’s Class D3 delivers full power across all nine channels simultaneously, for a total of 810 watts (8 ohms, 1 kHz @ 1.0% THD). The Elite SC-97 recreates the full impact and dynamic range of today’s high-resolution multi-channel audio and movie soundtracks. With a direct signal path and no EMI filters, feedback loops or current limiting, these amps can handle low-impedance speaker loads that challenge lesser receivers. The amps in the Elite SC-97 are so efficient, they generate less heat and energy loss than traditional Class AB designs, while consuming a fraction of the power and with greater reliability.

Pioneer’s Full-Band Phase Control technology eliminates phase lag to precisely control sound locations for ideal multi-channel sound reproduction. MCACC Pro is so advanced that it includes dual independent subwoofer EQ.
